  BRIAN MURPHY plays George Roberts, the aspirational manager of the wrong hotel.

Brian Murphy plays the role of the proud, though shabby hotelier, George Roberts, in ROOM 36. His hotel has definitely seen better days and its time for him to dust down his spectacles by the end of the film.

Having graduated from RADA, Brian Murphy went on to become one of the original members of Joan Littlewood’s Stratford East Theatre. He is one of Britain’s well know comic talents. His career in film, television and theatre is accomplished. He will be fondly recognised as the character of George Roper in GEORGE AND MILDRED and MAN ABOUT THE HOUSE, for which he won a Variety Club Award. He also starred in the series THE INCREDIBLE MR TANNER for Thames Television.

Brian has appeared in a vast number of well known feature films. Some of the most memorable being two of Ken Russell’s feature films - THE BOYFRIEND and THE DEVILS aka Devils of Loudon.

Brian was at the prestigious Almeida Theatre. The Vaudeville and The Shaftesbury are just some of the West End Theatres he has also appeared at and still his career continues to flourish. He can currently be seen in the popular TV series, LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE.
 

PAUL HERZBERG plays Connor, a neurotic hitman who kills the wrong person.

Paul has worked extensively as an actor and writer. Acting work includes leading roles at The Almeida (I.D.), Royal Exchange (His play, the award winning The Dead Wait), Mermaid (A Streetcar Named Desire), Chichester Festival Theatre (The Merchant Of Venice), Abbey Dublin (World prem of Dancing At Lughnasa); over 20 TV productions including The Life & Loves Of A She-Devil, Smiley's People, The Knock, Poirot.

Film work includes Cry Freedom, The Dirty Dozen Next Mission, Blood, The Book Of Eve and the soon TBR Almost Heaven which he co-wrote and in which he stars.

As a writer Paul's nominations, awards and work include a Verity Bargate Award nomination plus the Manchester Evening News award for best actor and two nominations for best play and production, writing commissions for radio, screen, and the theatre.
  PORTIA BOOROFF plays Miss Woods, a Member of Parliament who walks into the wrong room.

Portia Booroff plays the lead female character ‘Miss Woods’ in ROOM 36. Portia's television experience ranges from presenting for Channel 4 and the BBC to episodes of THE BILL, THE WAITING TIME and MINDER.

Portia’s theatre credits include Yelena in UNCLE VANYA, Hedda Gabbler Maria in TWELFTH NIGHT, DECADENCE, MISS JULIE, JACKIE and THE MAGISTRATE performed in London’s West End. Edinburgh Festival performances, LOVE ON THE PLASTIC at The Lyric, SPECULATORS and BLOODY POETRY at The Theatre Museum.

Portia has also undertaken both directing and producing for an adaptation of THE ELVES AND THE SHOEMAKER.

Her recent credits have been Crimewatch for UK television; playing the character of Nissa in the forthcoming feature film, Warrior Sisters and playing Hedda Gabbler at the Chichester Theatre; as well as Miss Julie which was toured nationally.
  NORMAN MITCHELL plays Desmond Mitchell, a ruthless politician who hires the wrong man.

Norman Mitchell was born in Sheffield and has clocked up more than 2000 TV appearances and 500 radio broadcasts. He started out at Sheffield Rep Theatre and, who for more than sixty years, was one of the busiest actors in the business. Sadly, he died on March 19th 2001, at the age of 82 and will be missed by all who knew him.

War interrupted his acting career. For a period of six years Norman saw active service with the Royal Army Medical Corp and, in 1945, he joined the Army Bureau of Current Affairs Play Unit where he landed his first radio work. He started with Shakespeare then onto slapstick comedy with names such a Laurie Lupino Lane.

Norman has hundreds of theatrical credits including A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE with Richard Harris and Mister Werle in Ibsen’s THE WILD DUCK.

It was undoubtedly his television career with programmes such as THE PRISONER playing Cluff, the first episodes of THE SAINT and other sixties programmes such as THE PROTECTORS and DANGER ISLAND that made him a familiar face and household name. Not to mention his fair share of coppers in Z CARS and DIXON OF DOCK GREEN.

Comedy was his real forte, where he made appearances in DADS ARMY, UP POMPEII, several of the CARRY ON’s ARE YOU BEING SERVED, IT AIN’T HALF HOT MUM, LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE and even ON THE BUSES and WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE LIKELY LADS.

Incredibly, Norman clocked up more than 200 appearances in feature films and played alongside actors such as Jack Hawkins and Richard Burton, as well as the final Peter Sellers-led Clouseau film, THE REVENGE OF THE PINK PANTHER. He was a dedicated actor and ‘the epitome of the true professional.’
  FRANK SCANTORI plays Richard Armstrong, who makes the wrong seduction.

Since leaving East 15 Acting School, Frank has had a varied background in film and theatre. He has acted in productions ranging from pantomime to Shakespeare, and several seasons of rep. His Theatre & Film appearances include 'Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat', 'Oliver', 'Side By Side', 'Into The Woods'. His Shakespeare include 'A Midsummer Nights Dream', 'Macbeth', 'The Tempest'. He quickly built his reputation for strong leading and character roles in all styles of theatre proving himself to be a very capable and adept physical performer with equally proficient as both a comedy and serious actor. His film appearances started as an extra in the 70’s with 'The Star Wars Films', a small cameo role in 'Revenge of Billy the Kid', then, as with his Theatre career, roles rapidly increased to supporting actor and leads in such films as 'Middleton’s Changeling' as Don Pedro playing opposite Billy Connoly, Ian Dury and John Cooper-Clarke, and an American cult movie series 'Witchcraft X - Mistress of the Craft'. He gained celebrity in Belgium and the Netherlands when he performed a 'Full Monty', style striptease in a commercial for ADECCO. The advert was banned in Belgium and Frank rapidly became a hit with a majority of Belgians and the whole of the Netherlands to the point of endless newspaper interviews, television appearances and special guest appearances in Dutch shows such as The Ivo Nehgt Show, Tros TV, Wie Ben Ik, TV I, The TV Show, to name a few. The advert is still a very popular download on the internet and has since created a large world-wide fan base. He was WINNER of an AWARD at the CCB (National Belgian ad awards) for best performance in a commercial. His notoriety was picked up by The Guardian which has led to a number of Radio & TV interviews and interest in guest appearances from The Big Breakfast and several late night shows. He hopes to develop his status and show he does more than drop his trousers.

He has made a guest star appearance in a new action series being filmed in Mauritius called BREAKWATER’, an Anglo/Indian series for Mauritian Television. Has recently been working on a pilot for a new TV comedy series with Linda Robson, Helen Lederer and Jackie Clunes. He will soon be seen in a memorable and disturbing role in the Ken Stott thriller series ‘MESSIAH IV – The Harrowing’. Set for transmission over the August bank holiday period on BBC TV. This one is not for the faint of heart.

Frank was awarded best performance in the Bristol Short Film Festival and has been nominated for best actor and best supporting actor in Europe and Japan. His future plans are for major roles in two new feature films planned to shoot next year.
  JOHN CATER plays Bert Fraser, a cheapskate loafer who picks up the wrong case.

John Cater trained at RADA and served a rep apprenticeship. At RADA he was in the same year as Joan Collins and Joe Orton. He enjoyed seasons at RSC and The National and made many West End appearances, notably in THE FANTASTICKS, THE CRUICIFER OF BLOOD, John Wells’ ANYONE FOR DENIS and THE MERCHANT OF VENICE with Dustin Hoffman.

Since the late 50’s John has been seen continually in a wide range of television productions, including sitcoms with Hancock, Howerd and Emery.

His film career started with LIVE NOW PAY LATER, LOOT and ALFIE. He also played Police Inspector Waverly in THE ABOMINABLE DR PHIBES and DR PHIBES RIDES AGAIN.

In between feature films John has appeared on many television programmes such as RISING DAMP and LITTLE LORD FAUNTLEROY plus countless others. His most recent appearances have been in ANAZAPTA, FOGBOUND, ROOM 36 and is currently playing Pauline Quirke’s dad in DOWN TO EARTH.
  JOHN FORBES-ROBERTSON plays Norman, who's just plain wrong.

John was born in Worthing Sussex in 1928. His parents toured in theatre and his father was hailed as the greatest Shakespearean actor on stage. With such accolade, his career was decided for acting was the only trade the future had in store for him.

His first professional appearance was when he was only six years old and he performed the sailor’s hornpipe at The Scala Theatre.

The big screen did not have to wait very long for his debut as within a year he was staring in the film KATHLEEN MAVOURNEEN. His acting career flourished with many appearances in theatre and film as well as television and radio.

John was the last Dracula that Peter Cushing killed when he stared in the film THE SEVEN GOLDEN VAMPIRES. John loves the theatre above all else. The love for his profession has never failed.
  NICOLA BRANSON plays Kate Flemming, a hardened prostitute who solicits the wrong client.

Nicola graduated in English PNL. She trained at The Welsh College of Music and Drama and her theatre performances have been seen at the Media Game, Soho Poly and Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh; Lady Macbeth, Wyvern Theatre, Swindon; Antigone, BAC; Improvised Comedy, Kingshead; Moira in Curiosity - a new play by Phil Wilmot, Old Red Lion; most recently Jeanette in LAST OF THE RED HOT LOVERS, EYE SUFFOLK.

Her television work includes Charlotte in ADAGIO for Channel 4; Kathy in IMAGES OF HEAVEN and Maria in UNDER A COLD SUN.
  DARBY HAWKER plays the maid.

Darby graduated from LAMDA after her three years training there and since has worked as a character actress in film, theatre and television. She has been described as ‘the next Bette Davis’.

At the age of five, Darby was to be seen on the film set with Sir John Mills in her acting debut in the 1960’s film, DULCIMA filmed at Tetbury cattlemarket, Gloucestershire, her home town.

Darby’s first television role was for TEENAGE HEALTH FREAK, directed by Pete Cattaneo, who went on to direct THE FULL MONTY. Darby has appeared in many costume dramas such as CLARISSA, for the BBC and has been in several short films including WHERE THE COWS GO by Maggie Ford which won a short film award in Paris.

Her theatre work includes Birmingham Rep, Basingstoke Rep and The Bridewell, London where she played her first lead Elvira in the French play THE BABY SITTER by Renee Obaldia.

Darby has never shied from hard work having worked with Ken Campbell on a 24 hour play called THE WARP.
